With funding from Al-Awn Foundation for Development and implementation by Nebras Association for Development, an agreement was signed to develop the Solar Energy specialization at Seiyun Community College as part of the foundation’s strategy to support technical and vocational education in Hadhramaut. The agreement was signed on behalf of Al-Awn Foundation for Development, the funding entity, by its Executive Director, Dr. Abdellah bin Othman, while the Secretary-General of Nebras Association for Development, Mr. Ashraf Al-Hadari, signed on behalf of the implementing entity. This agreement falls within the foundation’s efforts to enhance technical education and vocational training by launching a comprehensive program in the first phase of its strategic vision, targeting the Solar Energy and Cooling & Air Conditioning specializations. Dr. Abdellah bin Othman explained that each program consists of three integrated projects, including curriculum development, improvement of the educational environment, and training of teaching staff. He also affirmed that the development process would continue for two years, ensuring sustainable and increasing benefits post-development, leading to a long-term impact that supports economic and social development in Hadhramaut and Yemen as a whole. The programs are expected to benefit between 30 to 50 students annually, in addition to training 45 teaching staff members at Seiyun Community College.
