The Governor of Hadramout, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Salemin Al-Bassani, received in his office a team of Jordanian quality and classification experts from (Massa International Testing Company ) after completing the selection workshop of the National Instrument for Evaluation and Classification of Yemeni Universities. In the meeting, the Executive Director of Alawn Foundation for development , Mr.Abdulla Bin Othman, presented a copy of the results of the workshop which was held recently in Aden in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the period from 1 to 2 July 2018.Which aims to develop the performance of the Yemeni universities and raise their classification to keep pace with the development in the field of higher education. For his part, the Governor praised the efforts exerted by the Jordanian team to raise the efficiency of higher education and implement the outcomes of the workshop, stressing that the local authority will support and provide the necessary facilities for the success of the program ,believing of the importance of education in general and higher education in particular. The Jordanian team expressed their satisfaction with the warm welcome and the cooperation and facilities they had received in Hadramout. They praised the attention given by the Governor of Hadramout to the education sector in the province and stressed that the implementation of the workshop outputs is important for the advancement of higher education,and that this study is gaining the feasibility and importance of transferring Yemeni universities and not keeping them isolated from others, and it is proud to be Hadramaut is the first lighthouse to launch this program at the level of Yemeni provinces. The delegation visited the faculties of Hadramout University, including the Faculty of Computer Science and studied the progress of the study. They expressed their admiration for the equipment provided by these colleges to enhance the success of the workshop outputs. The meeting was attended by professors and academics of Hadramout University, during which the idea and criteria of the tool were explained and the indicators and mechanism of work were clarified. The meeting witnessed several interventions by specialists. The discussion continued for 3 hours in the auditorium of Ahmed Bakthir. It is planned that the University of Sayoun will visit a similar visit and explain the national instrument and agreed standards to be Hadramout starting point to start work on this scientific strategy that will create a new face for the education sector in general and university education in particular.
