The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training signed a memorandum of understanding with Al-Awn Foundation for Development in the temporary capital Aden today to implement a technical and vocational education development program in priority areas according to labor market requirements.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the ministry by Vice Minister of Technical Education Abdulrab Al-Mahouli, and on behalf of the foundation by Cheif Executive Officer, Dr. Abdellah bin Othman, in the presence of ministry's undersecretaries and a number of representatives of international and local organizations.
Following the signing, Al-Mahouli praised the role of Al-Awn Foundation for Development in implementing sustainable projects that aim to develop the capacities of young people by providing them with the skills required to improve their living standards and create job opportunities to reduce unemployment. He stressed the importance of this effective partnership, which comes within the framework of the ministry's interest in supporting sustainable development for the community.
For his part, Dr. Abdellah bin Othman, explained that the project will last for five years and will target in its first version the Community College in Sayun and the Industrial Technical Institute in Mukalla. Al-Awn Foundation for Development will finance the implementation of the development program for technical and vocational institutes under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training, with the aim of developing educational curricula in various fields and improving the educational environment of the targeted institutes.
