With funding from Al-Awn Foundation for Development and Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Association, and in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Vocational Education, and Training, a specialized training program for solar energy staff at the Community College in Sayun was launched in the Jordanian capital, Amman, as part of the Solar Energy Specialty Development Project. The training is being conducted at the German Academy for Renewable Energy at Al-Hussein Technical University, organized by Nibras Development Association.
The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Mr. Mohammed Al-Saban, Programs and Projects Director at Al-Awn Foundation for Development; Dr. Fahmy Farah, Dean of the Community College in Sayun; and Mr. Ashraf Al-Hadari, Secretary-General of Nibras Development Association. Dr. Majed Hamad, Executive Director of the World English Language Olympiad and Director of Maseh International Testing Company, was also present.
In his speech, Mr. Al-Saban praised the strategic partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasizing that the project aligns with Al-Awn Foundation's strategy to support vocational and technical education. He highlighted the importance of the specialized field and the foundation’s commitment to selecting the best universities in Jordan, noting that the training would be hosted by the German Academy at Al-Hussein University. He urged participants to make the most of this training opportunity to enhance their expertise and skills.
Dr. Farah pointed out the significance of this initiative in developing the solar energy specialty and establishing it as a distinguished program at the regional level. He emphasized that the training would enhance the academic and professional competencies of the teaching staff at the college, positively impacting the quality of educational outcomes.
Mr. Al-Hadari confirmed that the program reflects Nibras Association’s commitment to developing technical education in Yemen. He mentioned that Al-Hussein Technical University was selected to implement the training due to its specialized renewable energy center and its global training standards.
Engineer Hamza Al-Baqai, Director of the German Academy for Renewable Energy, explained that the program focuses on transferring practical and technical expertise, which will help enhance the Community College’s position as a leader in renewable energy at both local and regional levels. He expressed his gratitude to the donors for their significant support for this important specialty.
The program lasts for 15 days with the participation of 8 trainees from the Community College in Sayun, and aims to develop technical and practical skills in solar energy according to the latest international standards.
